Explorers is for children aged between 7 and 11, or in school years 3 to 6. Newcomers and day visitors are always very welcome.

We meet in the church building every Sunday at 9.15 and 11am for the start of the main service, then after about ten minutes we go out and are escorted across the road to classrooms at Sevenoaks School. For Family Services (usually the first Sunday in the month), we stay in the main service all the way through.

Our aim at Explorers is for children to come to know Jesus personally as their Lord and Saviour, and learn about how God wants us to live. Each of our sessions involves prayer, praise, a Bible study and memory verse games or other activities. Children are given a booklet related to the passage studied with extra questions and activities to help consolidate what they have learned. We have a small lending library called the Book Barrow, where children can borrow Christian books for a month at a time.

As a group we support mission organisations both in prayer and financially, and once or twice a term we have a visit from a missionary, who comes to talk about the gospel work they do. We also have a social outing every term, helping the leaders to get to know the children better and enabling children from different schools and years to build up friendships.
