Undercroft Coffee Shop and Bookshop

Open from 10am to 2pm Mon-Fri (term time only)

St Nicholas Church offers a special facility in an area below the Church where you can meet a friend, browse books and cards, buy a cuppa or order a light lunch. Free wifi is available. A warm welcome is offered to all members of the local Sevenoaks community, as well as those visiting the area from further afield.

Coffee shop

The coffee shop is a friendly and cheery atmosphere in which to enjoy Fairtrade drinks, delicious homemade cakes, snacks or light lunches including soup, jacket potatoes and paninis. We use Indigo Valley coffee, which supports coffee producers in Columbia, giving them a fair price for their coffee and helping them to improve and develop their local business co-operatives. We also operate an allergy awareness policy.

We now take pre-ordered lunch and group bookings. Packed lunches are also available on request. Please speak to our Hospitality Manager, Vanessa, or our Coffee Shop Supervisor, Fritha, about your requirements.

Our Bookshop comprises a broad and frequently updated selection of gospel-centred Christian literature; including Bibles, Bible commentaries and study guides, general Christian texts and selected titles for children of all ages – all at competitive prices. We also stock an extensive range of cards.

At various times throughout the year, we are able to offer carefully selected and attractively priced book promotions. In addition, we are very happy to order books personally for you, if what you are looking for is not currently held in stock. Please contact the Bookroom for any enquiries or assistance.

Volunteer support

We rely on volunteers to carry out many of the duties of both the coffee shop and the bookshop. This might only take an hour of your day to provide help when and where it is most needed. If you would be interested in assisting us in this way then please contact the Church Office in the first instance.
