June 2017

Over recent years it has been wonderful to gather all the St. Nicholas congregations together in one place at one time. It’s not easy for anyone because choosing 10.30am on a Sunday morning means that every congregation needs to make adjustments in order to be there. But it’s worth it!

So, what are the ingredients for the Together Service this year?

  • Great Bible teaching from Vaughan Roberts from the Book of Revelation and
  • Brilliant children’s work in a marquee in the Rectory Garden led by Claire Mason and Cara Smith.
  • Awesome music in the main church led by two of our Ministry Associates, Owen Lucas and Cyril Baptist.
  • Delicious breakfast of bacon baps available from 9am in the Rectory Garden organised by Vanessa Nicholls and her hospitality team.
  • Massive bring-your-own picnic in the Rectory Garden at lunchtime – an opportunity to relax in the sun and be an encouragement to each other so that, as Hebrews 10:24 says, we can spur each other on towards love and good deeds.

It’s great to make the effort to join us for this annual celebration. Please invite friends to come along too!

And please pray for Vaughan Roberts as he prepares to be with us. He is Rector at St. Ebbe’s Oxford where he has served for the last 20 years. He has taught the Bible all over the world and his writings and leadership have been very influential in helping Christians to navigate their way through some of the contentious issues of the day. We are very grateful indeed that he has carved out time to join us in Sevenoaks on Sunday 2nd July. I do trust that you will also carve time out in order to make the most of this exciting opportunity to gather as the Lord’s people.
