In a large church like St Nicholas it isn’t always easy to meet people and to connect with others. We recognise this problem. One of the ways we try to respond is by encouraging folk to join one of our Home Groups.
Home Groups have a special role in the life and purpose of St Nicholas. Their overarching aim is to help one another grow as disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ. This means each and every group undertakes prayerful concern for one another and a commitment to one another to grow in Christian maturity. Accordingly, each and every Home Group includes Bible study, led by the leader or a co-leader, following the prescribed studies organised by Gavin McGrath (our Associate Rector). In response to studying together God’s Word, there is a recognised priority of prayer and care. Additionally, Home Groups are one of the best contexts for outreach and evangelism (like all Christian disciples, we don’t exist simply for our own benefit) and frequently Home Groups encourage evangelistic engagement and opportunities.
Home Groups (with one or two exceptions) meet on the second and fourth Tuesday evenings of each month (apart from August). To join a group or to request further information, contact Gavin McGrath via the Church Office.
