Music At St Nicholas

Music forms an important part of our public worship at St Nicholas, and features in all our services except the 8am Communion.

Each service includes both traditional hymns with organ accompaniment and contemporary songs led by our Music Group. The choir contribute a special musical item every few weeks.

For further details please contact Graham Cassford (Music Group) or Peter Young (choir and organ) via the church office.

Bellringing

There are eight bells in our tower, the tenor (F) weighing 16-2-10. The current ring dates from 1966, when all eight bells were recast by Mears & Stainbank from the metal of the previous peal.

The bells are rung before the 11am and 6.30pm services, with a practice at 8pm on Mondays.

In addition the bells can be requested for weddings and funerals and are, on occasions, rung to mark significant local or national events. On a personal level, if you are to celebrate an anniversary or special birthday etc., and would like the bells to mark the occasion, please get in touch.

For further details please contact Astrid or Phil via the church office.
